Therapy online and in-person in Cool Springs TN.
Specializing in first responders, military members, and children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety.
Things haven’t been normal for a long time.
-
Your mind jumps from one thing to the next—your family, your job, your health, the future, the to-do list that never seems to end. You try to stay busy, but the moment things slow down, your thoughts start racing again.
“What if…” keeps replaying in your mind.
-
Back to the mile long to-do list. Back to the argument you had with your spouse last week or when you snapped at the kids after you told yourself wouldn’t do that again. Back to the call you responded to last shift—or the incident from years ago that still pops into your mind when you least expect it. Or maybe it goes back to something earlier. Memories from childhood you wish you could forget.
-
You want to enjoy a movie with your family, go out to dinner with friends, or simply sit down and rest—but your mind won’t let you.
You have headaches more than you used to and there is a tightness in your chest that makes it hard to breathe sometimes.
Your head is on a swivel, constantly scanning your environment. Your muscles stay tense, ready to respond—to the next call, the next problem, or the next thing someone needs from you.
Your body has learned how to stay ready for danger—even when you're finally safe.
-
The things you used to enjoy now feel exhausting, pointless, or impossible to make time for. You want to spend more time with your family and friends, but you feel disconnected—like part of you is always somewhere else.
You notice yourself feeling more irritable lately. Snapping when you don’t mean to. Feeling overwhelmed by things that used to roll off your shoulders.
-
You lie down exhausted, but your mind refuses to slow down. Thoughts keep spinning long after your head hits the pillow.
Or maybe you are able to fall asleep, but you wake up two hours later in a cold sweat after reliving that bad call or combat tour yet another time in your dreams.
Long work hours have destroyed your sleep schedule, and your body does not know when to sleep and when to be awake.
-
You’ve noticed they seem more anxious, overwhelmed, or withdrawn than they used to be and you’re not sure how to help.
Maybe you’re see ing big emotions, trouble sleeping, or struggles at school or at home—and you want to help them feel safe, confident, and like themselves again.
You don’t have to navigate that alone.
The good news is that change is possible.
Hi, I’m Lindsay.
As a first responder spouse and someone who has spent years working in high-intensity environments while balancing significant responsibilities and navigating my own anxiety, I understand how overwhelming life can feel—and how hard it can be to believe things could ever change.
Through specialized training and lived experience, I offer a space where you can talk openly about what you’ve been carrying and begin feeling more in control of your mind and body again. In our work together, we’ll look at the whole picture of your life and build practical tools that help you find lasting relief and reconnect with what matters most
First Responders and Military
Life as a first responder or military service member can be incredibly meaningful—but it also asks you and your family to carry experiences and pressures that most people don’t fully understand, and that can be hard to talk about. Whether you are a first responder or military member yourself, or you love someone who is, therapy offers a safe space to process what you’ve been carrying so that you can find relief and be more present both at home and on the job.
Anxiety
Life with anxiety can be exhausting—but you don’t have to face it alone. Together we’ll explore what’s driving your worry and build practical tools to ease your mind and body so you can feel calmer, more present, and back in control of your daily life.
Trauma and EMDR
When we go through something overwhelming or frightening, it can feel like the experience is stuck on repeat in our minds and bodies. Using specialized approaches like EMDR, therapy can help your brain process those experiences so they no longer have the same hold on you, allowing you to feel safer and more in control again.
Christian Faith Based Counseling
For many individuals, their Christian faith is a central part of who they are and how they understand and navigate life. It is often where they turn for support, comfort, and direction during times of stress and difficulty, and it can also be a powerful part of the healing and growth process. If you would like faith to be part of the counseling process, we can integrate professional counseling tools with a biblical perspective to support you in finding the calm, connection, and greater sense of peace you are looking for.
Children and Teens
Growing up today can be a lot for kids and teens to navigate. Between academic demands, after-school activities, friendships, family expectations, and major developmental changes, they often carry more stress than we realize. Therapy provides a safe space where they can talk openly, learn healthy coping strategies, better understand their emotions, and strengthen social and time-management skills. Together, we can help them feel more confident and supported in their daily lives.
Life is stressful enough. Let’s make starting therapy and seeing change simple.
STEP 1 - Schedule A Free Consultation
This is a free 10–15 minute phone or video call, whichever works best for your schedule. During this time, we’ll briefly discuss what is bringing you to therapy and answer any questions or concerns you may have. This conversation can help you determine if we are a good fit and help you feel more confident moving forward.
STEP 2 - Start Therapy
Sessions are approximately 50 minutes long and can be held online or in person at my office in Cool Springs TN. We will meet at a frequency that works best for you, though most clients typically attend sessions every 1–3 weeks.
STEP 3 - Begin Experiencing Change
Over time, you may begin to notice the anxiety and stress becoming more manageable. Your mind may feel clearer, your body more relaxed, and your relationships more connected and fulfilling. You may also find that past painful experiences come to mind less often, and when they do, they no longer feel as intense or overwhelming.
